Review of Controlled Education Provision in Forge Integrated Primary School 2016
We are working with the Education Authority Northern Ireland to establish long term solutions to our accomodation needs and enhance sustainable Integrated primary provision for south east Belfast.
To that end a Development Proposal is being brought forward to look at the relocation of the school to a larger site within the local catchment area.
The Education Authority have identified the site of the former Knockbreda High School as their preffered option for re-location: This is subject to the completion of an economic appraisal, approved by DE, if Ministerial approval is given for the Development Proposals.
All parents of children currently at the school were invited to a meeting on the 18th January and many parents submitted consultation returns in February 2016. The proposals were then approved by the Education Authority and published for public consultation in October 2016. The public consultation period ends on 20th December 2016.
While we appreciate that parents have already responded to consultation we feel that it is important that the Department of Education hear the positve support there is for Integrated Education and we would appeal to all of our parents and supporters to respond to the public consultation and voice support for our development.
An email to the Area Planning Team will only take a few minutes: firstname.lastname@example.org
Details of the Proposals can be viewed here.
Parents who feel they need further clarification of the proposal can contact the school and arrange to speak to the Principal.
